This is one of those amazing, great-to-be-alive days here in Florida.  It's so vividly bright outside the shadows cast by the palms are midnight black, there's an almost cool breeze and the recent rains have lowered the pool water to a brisk 86 degrees. And as I did a few "laps" and basked in my good fortune, I couldn't help thinking how this still isn't a great day at all for so many people. I made a contribution to the Red Cross last week and have their website posted here, but based on what I'm seeing on the news I wonder if my good intentions were wasted. Seems to me there is so much analysis going on about what went wrong -- in fact there'll be a congressional investigation into why the system failed. Could it be the system is too busy analyzing and investigating, instead of manning truckloads of supplies and handing them out to the people who need them?
